Strategic & Civic Engagement Facilitation
Strategic Planning
I offer strategic facilitation services to help non-profit leaders with visioning workshops, change management, resource allocation and multi-sector stakeholder conversations to guide program design, strategy development and organizational growth.
I designed a series of 3 retreats across 4 days for new Board members, Head of Departments and the Leadership Team to have generative conversations about the future. Through these conversations, they identified trends and threats, collaborative projects between departments to amplify their impact and aligned their priorities to national trends mentioned in the Forward Singapore report.
Strategic Facilitation for Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore)
Strategic Facilitation for Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement (New York City)
Through two workshops, I supported 14 key directors and staff of the Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement in New York City, USA to translate their recently created 3-year strategic plan into an actionable implementation plan using the Objectives Key Results (OKR) framework.
Civic Engagement
I collaborate with government agencies and schools to design immersive citizen engagement programs, integrating participatory techniques that enable diverse communities to co-create solutions, foster trust, and drive meaningful outcomes through genuine, respectful dialogue.
Civic Engagement Facilitation for Migrant Workers Listening Living Labs
From 2021 - 2023 through my work in A Good Space Co-operative, I designed and convened 90+ multi-sector representatives from dorm operators, employers, the Ministry of Manpower, NGOs, academics, doctors and migrant workers to make sense of the complex issues migrant workers face, find common ground and prototype 3 ideas to improve their lives, using the Collective Impact approach.
Forward Singapore Conversations
I organized two conversations for the Forward Singapore (FSG) movement. In the first, 30 changemakers shared 40+ actionable ideas across the FSG pillars, later submitted to the Secretariat. The second conversation saw changemakers engaging in a productive discussion with Senior Parliamentary Secretary Eric Chua and Director of the Singapore Government Partnerships Office Dawn Yip, on how the government can strengthen partnerships with changemakers.
Process
While each client’s goals and concerns are different, my past experience suggests that our journey together might unfold in a series of non-linear steps
1. Entry and Contracting
Through a series of initial discussions, we’ll clarify your desired outcomes and the roles and responsibilities you envision. We’ll also agree on the process, the resources available to enable the change you wish to see and how we can measure success.
2. Data Collection & Analysis
We’ll jointly identify and collect the data necessary to support the change you’d like to see. This could include implementing surveys, interviews with key team members and small focus groups with stakeholders to collect data that can guide our intervention design.
3. Feedback & Action Planning
We’ll reflect on the findings in step 2, identify courses of action that can move us closer to the change you wish to see and develop an action plan for implementation. This could involve creating a workshop plan, starting specific initiatives and identifying potential trade-offs and implications.
4. Intervention
We’ll implement the action plan mentioned in step 3 together, monitoring its progress and adapting along the way where needed.
5. Evaluation & Termination
We’ll measure the impact of the interventions and determine next steps. This may include closure and / or consolidation of learnings.
