I designed a series of workshops for 14 key directors and staff of the Jacob A Riis Neighborhood Settlement in Queens, New York City to translate the 3 pillars mentioned in their strategic plan into an implementation plan with actionable steps, using the Objectives Key Results (OKR) framework.

Some key outcomes of these workshops included:

• Each Director translated the strategic plan into concrete deliverables with specific implementation deadlines they can work with their teams to achieve

• Directors co-created a dashboard of these deliverables which they could use for internal reporting to their Board Members and external reporting to the public and donors through their Annual Report.

• Directors reconnected with the organization’s purpose and their own reasons for choosing to work in the organization

• Enabled Directors and ground staff to understand how their day-to-day work connects to the organization’s big picture goals

The implementation plan using the OKR framework that came out of these workshops became adopted by Riis Settlement organization wide to support their social impact work.
